RICHARD NORD - editor

Richard Nord's 27-year career began in 1978 after he graduated from New York University 's Tish School of the Arts with an M.A. in Cinema Studies. From there, he worked as an apprentice editor on Paul Mazursky's WILLIE AND PHIL and WOLFEN.

Nord's first major film work was as an assistant editor for five years for Woody Allen, where he worked on such films as MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT SEX COMEDY, ZELIG, BROADWAY DANNY ROSE, PURPLE ROSE OF CAIRO and HANNAH AND HER SISTERS. He then began working for Mike Nichols who promoted him to full editor on BILOXI BLUES and WORKING GIRL.

Nord moved to Los Angeles in 1991 and went on to edit PASSENGER 57, RENAISSANCE MAN and THE FUGITIVE in which he was nominated for an Academy Award. AURORA BOREALIS was his first collaboration with the director, James Burke, but hopefully not his last.  Nord is presently finishing a film called CAPTIVITY with Roland Joffe in Russia.
